Our Story
Our story first started eight years ago when we met at the greatest pub to ever grace the streets of Toronto – McVeigh’s. Home to the Downtown Toronto Celtic Supporters Club, we both stopped in for a pint of Guinness (or ten) and were introduced by our mutual friends, Kenny and Steph. Trev serenaded Sam with an angelic performance of Elvis’ “Suspicious Minds” – and the rest is history.
But really, we quickly bonded over our shared love for music and our Scottish heritage, and soon set off on our first solo adventure together – a spontaneous trip up north. With no plan in mind, no accommodations booked, we left for the long weekend with nothing but a tent and a blow-up boat (rip Seahawk). Each night we slept somewhere new – Lovesick Lake, Barry’s Bay, Algonquin Park – and it was on this weekend away that we both knew there would be many, many more adventures and stories to come.
It was on our most recent trip to the UK that we were finally engaged. With a little help from Trev’s parents who smuggled the ring across the pond and a lovely Scot playing the bagpipes nearby, Trev proposed in the Princes Street Gardens below Edinburgh Castle.
Nearly two years later, we are so excited to celebrate our wedding with each of you who have been a part of our journey and our lives. Special thanks to our closest friends and family joining us in our wedding party.
